The 2017 Homecoming Football game occurred at Piscataway High School on October 20th, 2017. PHS played against Monroe High School, and the Chiefs ended up winning with a score of 48-21 over the Falcons.

Nasir Best, one of the Piscataway High School football players did a 55-yard run, Joseph Hatcher did a 12-yard pass to Juwon Jackson, Nahjir Woods got a total of six points, Nasir got a total of six points as well and Juwon Jackson got the most points which was 24 points. But for rushing, Nasir Best did about 128 yards and Juwon Jackson did a total of 165 yards. One of the Chieftain coaches, Coach Fox anticipated Piscataway’s win. Coach Fox says,

“There were six touchdowns. A lot of people caught the ball, I would say about six as well. Joe Hatcher threw the ball and there were about three different kickers. Everybody played well. I loved that so many people came to support us.”

Coach Fox also mentions his main goals for the players, “My main goals for the players is that as long as they work hard, do their job and doing what they’re supposed to do they will succeed.” A student at Piscataway High school attended to watch the homecoming game insists,“I honestly was expecting our school to win. I’m really proud that we won and hopefully we win next year’s homecoming football game as well. But either way, it was a great time just seeing people cheer for our school.”

Students and coaches at Piscataway anticipated Chiefs to win because the PHS football team always tries their best by practicing. The coaches give motivation to the players so they could continue to their best and try harder.
