This year, on February 8th, the Chinese Culture Club hosted their yearly Lunar New Year event. The celebration lasted from 6-8pm in the Patton cafeteria, and hosted a wide variety of activities, from calligraphy to origami to ping pong. They sold food like boba and ramen and held special raffles and a scavenger hunt for students to enjoy. And to cap off the night, club members Aeryn Marrow and Amaya Clary performed a ceremonial dance celebrating the upcoming year of the dragon.
“The main idea of the event was to get Chinese Culture more well known.” Caden Leung, a Chinese club member who helped the event, said. “We wanted to show off a bunch of different things in the culture and have everyone interact with it.”
This event left everyone with a smile on their face, and excitement towards the new year of the dragon
