On April 11th, 2025, in the principal’s conference room at Piscataway High School, PHS held their monthly Student of the Month breakfast for the month of March. A student from each grade at PHS was selected to be their class’ Student of the Month. From 9th to 12th grade these students were Asmara Muhammadu Jalees, Anjali Patel, Maria Valencia, and Amaya Campbell.
These students were recognized for their superb traits such as kindness, leadership, hardworking, and courage. Christopher Baldassano, the Principal at PHS, says that the breakfast is a good way for students to be recognized for these traits.

”I think it’s a great recognition for students from their teachers for all of the great things,” Baldassano said. “A lot of our students do great things throughout the school year that maybe don’t get recognized.”
The 10th grade student of the month, Anjali Patel, said she felt very honored and proud of this achievement.

“I think I put in a lot of hard work in the recent months and it is nice to finally see that other people are recognizing that too.” Patel said. “I’m very proud of what I have been able to achieve the last few months and I plan to keep working hard.”
Baldassano’s intent with the Student of the Month breakfast is fulfilled every month and sees this as a big deal.
“I think it’s a big deal and I hope they feel some sense of pride in their accomplishments.” Baldassano said. “As well as happiness for being recognized by their teachers for all of the things they are doing well.”

The Student of the Month breakfast and award is a great way for students to gain recognition. These students have worked so hard to gain their honor. Baldassano agrees with this.
“I say to a lot of people that we’ve got some really great kids in this school and this was one way of recognizing some of them.” Baldassano said. “I think it’s important that anytime you’re doing anything that you take time to stop and kind of take a deep breath and recognize the great things that are going on here everyday.”
