The Piscataway High School Media Center is undergoing a transformation that plans on blending its peaceful and educational atmosphere with a modern environment that introduces new spaces for technology and engagement.

Planned by a number of individuals, “Dr. Ranelli; our Business Administrator David Oliveira; our IT Director John Bartruff, our Facilities Manager Robert Uhrin; Chris Irovando, and me, along with some teachers and supervisors” as our principal, Mr. Baldassano explained, the renovation is designed to create a flexible hub that not only houses resources but can also support academics and extracurricular activities for student endeavors.
In addition to completely redoing the PHS Media Center, the updated facility will also include many changes that include a new engineering classroom, an additional cafeteria eating area, and an office suite!

And of course, we can’t forget the biggest highlight of the project, standing out amongst the rest: the addition of an E-Sports room. This area underscores the Media Center’s dedication to incorporating students’ contemporary interests in the efforts to both appeal to students’ needs and interests as well as provide them with a comfortable and engaging area.
Several students are already happy about the following changes and are excited to have their interests on display. The improvements are welcome not only from students – the Media Center technician and librarian, Mrs. Menasha, is “very excited about the upcoming renovation and the new space provided for students and teachers.” She is optimistic about these additions and predicts that they will encourage more visitors to the library.

The renewed school library seems to be set in the path to become a dynamic center of both comforting and innovative themes. It is a space that truly displays the overlap between historical and simpler environments that can adapt to more modern demands without losing its charm, promoting academic excellence while nurturing interest and creativity.
